Password Protection

Add or modify current password or assign a supervisor override password.

Supervisor Override

Allows a user to perform an activity that they normally would not be able to. This password is generated by a supervisor who can restrict how long the password can be active and how many times it can be used.

Personal Preferences

Define preferences specific to each User ID. These settings apply to the User ID even if logged in on another computer.

The following settings are also available:

Show Tips Window:

Select this checkbox to display a Tip of the Day window each time PropertyBoss is started. Each tip offers a suggestion on how to make PropertyBoss more useful.

Maximize Windows:

Select this checkbox to have the PropertyBoss window maximized when it opens.

Default Navigator Window:

Select this checkbox then choose the window you want displayed when PropertyBoss opens.

Number Of Databases To Show In Window:

If you have multiple databases, PropertyBoss can display previously opened databases on the Navigator under Recent Databases. Enter the number of recently opened databases that you want to appear on the Navigator. This option allows you to change databases without having to logout of the current database to open another database.

Show Links Navigator:

If checked, the Links Navigator displays on the menu allowing external links to other applications and websites.

Language:

If you have created a custom “language” for your PropertyBoss database, you can choose the default language that you want to use. See Tools > Language Translation for detailed instructions.

Style:

Starting with the release of version 10.01, you can now select a visual style for your PropertyBoss User ID.

PropertyBoss System Settings assist in meeting your individual needs.

Some of the options in System Settings include:

AutoPost Preferences

The AutoPost utility automatically posts rent charges, late fees, recurring charges, etc. AutoPost Preferences allow specific parameters to be defined.

Backup Preferences

PropertyBoss can remind you to perform routine backups of your database. This option is only used for the Single User version. Networked installations can be backed up using Database Utilities in the Tools window.

Budgeting Preferences

Create budgets using the Budgeting Preferences. This module is specifically for installations that do not use the PropertyBoss General Ledger.

Closing Preferences

PropertyBoss will prevent any additions, changes, or deletions of transactions based on the parameters defined in Closing Preferences.

Company Information

Enter your Company information which can be included on report headers and in the Letter functionality.

Define Transactions

You can define an unlimited number of transactions for each type of account.

Global Preferences

Select system-wide options for your PropertyBoss database such as using the Move-Out Process or interfacing with an accounting package.

Predefined Values

Modify predefined values delivered with PropertyBoss and the creation of new fields.

Processing Options

Select options for handling NSF transactions, deposit preferences, prorating of charges, etc.

Registration Numbers

Store all PropertyBoss registration numbers and PASS Code.

Report Headings

PropertyBoss provides the ability to customize report headings to include your Company logo, as well as managing the inclusion and placement of other elements.

Security Settings

Define User ID accounts and grant permission to utilize specific functions and features within the database.

Work Order Groups

Create/modify groups of related work orders. Each group has different setup and security options.
