NARPM Regional Conferences

We at PropertyBoss always enjoy the opportunity to meet with our clients and make new friends at trade shows.  Especially when they are hosted by the NARPM organization!  For our latest adventure we decided to take our ‘Prospector’ helmets to the Eastern Regional Conference at Virginia Beach.  They were a big hit – the only problem was we didn’t bring additional helmets to accommodate the demand from the attendees!  In addition to being a real head turner, the helmets were a great way to spread our message of helping property managers to grow their business by tracking their prospective clients in our system.  Charlene Minor of Elite Home Management Services and Tom and Lynn Sedlack of 33rd Company Property Management got to meet the latest fashion craze in person – Charlene even took a helmet for a test drive!

In addition to the obvious safety benefits, we found the prospector helmet was a great way to shine some new light on ways to better serve our clients. Next stop for the prospector helmet – the NARPM South Central Regional Conference in Little Rock, Arkansas on April 29 and 30!

PropertyBoss Best Practices Group

buddyOne of the most rewarding and fulfilling aspects to our work at PropertyBoss is interacting with our clients.  We’d like to extend that same opportunity to compare notes, share tips and tricks, and examine trends in the industry to all of our users with our new Best Practices Group.  You have a couple of options in order to access the information within our group.  You can review the messages from the members of the group by visiting the site for the group, or you can create your own free account in order to post questions and respond to messages from the other users.

To apply for membership, select the ‘Apply for group membership’ option on the right:

At this point if you have a Google account, you can log in.  If you don’t have a Google account, you can create a free account at this time.  Once you have logged in with your Google account, you can apply for membership by listing your DBKey.

Once the administrator has verified your account, you will be welcome to post messages that other members can view and respond to.  You can edit your account to set up your preferences on receiving these messages, such as whether or not you would like to be notified via email, and how often.  The PropertyBoss team will also view and respond to messages that the users post.  We hope to see you all on the Best Practices Group soon!

Fact  ( FOR SIDEBAR)

Did you know that South Carolina has the most golf holes per capita than any other state in the US? There are over 370 golf courses that generate more than $2.2 billion in economic impact a year.  South Carolina has hosted major tournaments throughout the years, one of the most famous being the 1991 Ryder Cup held at Kiawah Island where the US brought home the trophy for the first time since 1985. Annually in April, Hilton Head Island hosts the PGA Verizon Heritage Golf Tournament the week after the Master’s is played in Augusta, GA.  Fore!

NARPM Southeastern Regional Conference a success!

Congratulations are due to the Atlanta chapter of NARPM for orchestrating the Southeastern Regional conference with very short notice.  Even though the conference was scheduled for the end of the month, always a busy time for any property manager, attendance was brisk.  We enjoyed meeting many of our clients at the trade show and luncheon (for the record, that’s just cranberry juice in our glasses).  If you missed Carlton Collins’ presentation during the luncheon, it was one of the more entertaining events that I have had the pleasure to attend.  My personal favorites were some of the very powerful Excel tools he demonstrated, like linking spreadsheets to live data from an accounting package.  He also showed grace under pressure by capably forging ahead through some unexpected technology hiccups.

Attendees were treated to a couple of days of gorgeous Southern weather, and accomodations at the Doubletree in Roswell were a great fit for the conference. The award for longest distance traveled by a PropertyBoss client goes to Janice Lozano, who made the trip from San Antonio! Special thanks goes out to Robert Locke for hosting the wine party on Thursday night, hopefully that didn’t cut into the impressive profits the Doubletree stood to make from the vigorous networking sessions at the hotel bar that lasted into the night. Also, many thanks to Michael McCreary for volunteering his photography skills to document the trade show, I’m sure his pictures will be of a significantly higher quality than our images listed here. We are looking forward to next year’s Southeastern Regional conference, as well as any future events associated with the Atlanta chapter of NARPM.
