Can PropertyBoss be used by multiple users on a network?

PropertyBoss is network ready allowing multiple users to access the same data at the same time. Unlike some systems, PropertyBoss provides full, unlimited access to the entire system for concurrent users.

Can we connect all of our remote properties using PropertyBoss?

Using PropertyBoss Hosted allows you to connect all of your remote properties in Real Time! You have complete control over what features and properties each remote location can see.
In addition, PropertyBoss provides a weekly summary report card for multi-site properties. This report card provides a quick summary of the prospect activity, leasing/renewal activity, receipts processing, and work orders backlog management across multiple sites.

What operating system works best with PropertyBoss?

PropertyBoss runs on Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7. For the best performance, we recommend Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7.

Is PropertyBoss Mac-compatible?

Native remote access is available to our web-deployed solution, PropertyHost, for the Mac OSX.  Stand-alone and networked versions of PropertyBoss can be run on the Mac operating system with a Windows emulator. A number of PropertyBoss clients use PropertyBoss in virtual machine mode (VirtualBox), although we are unable to provide HelpDesk assistance for this. Older Macs with the PowerPC processor must use Microsoft’s Virtual PC.

How do I get a registration code?

If you have any registration code questions or need to request a registration code, please call technical support at (864) 297-7661 or send an email to: care@propertyboss.com. Please include your DBKey in the message or have it available when you call. You can locate the DBKey by clicking the menu option Help and then selecting PropertyBoss Registration.

Does PropertyBoss accounting work on a cash basis or an accrual basis?

Both! While the accounting is done for you, all of the accounting reports allow you to specify whether they should display the information on a cash or accrual basis. PropertyBoss supports running some properties on a cash basis and others on an accrual basis.

Does PropertyBoss require training?

PropertyBoss is a friendly, easy-to-understand system. Many customers are able to start using PropertyBoss by reading the manual or other online documents. We strongly recommend training for you to get the most out of PropertyBoss. Training provides you with the tools for implementing PropertyBoss in ways that work best for you. In addition, the PropertyBoss instructors can pass on tips and best-practices for handling your specific requirements. We offer both online, on-site and classroom training.

What version of PropertyBoss am I using?

Open PropertyBoss, click on Help (it is on the upper right of the toolbar), and click on “About PropertyBoss.” The version number will be in the center of the window that opens.

Where is my company data stored?

The PropertyBoss database is a single-file database that is self-tuning and self-optimizing. Unlike the outdated technology used by some vendors, you do not need to run periodic rebuilds or fixes on the database. The name of the database is the name that appears in the title bar of the PropertyBoss application. For the standalone and network versions, the database is located in the PropertyBoss executable directory which is typically C:\PropertyBoss Data.
